Hi and welcome,
My name is Andrew Thompson. I own and operate Reef Studios in Rockhampton. I'm also an avid cyclist.
As the sun goes down at Reef and the last client leaves, it's not unusual to see the car park filling up with riders ready to go out on another adventure around the back streets and trails that fringe our city. It's a brilliant way to end the day.
I've been running social bike rides, both on and off road, for a couple of years now. Early in 2020, I want to expand the list of social fitness activities to include group workouts in the park, as well as kayaking at Mount Morgan Dam and the Capricorn Coast.
All of these activities are free for anyone to participate in. Simply show up at the appointed time and we're off.
Below, you will find my full schedule plus links to more detailed information. Call me on 4926 7778 or 0422 276 202 if you have any questions.
Have a brilliant day,
Andrew Thompson.

Cycle CQ
I lead road rides and "mashup rides" for Cycle CQ. Road rides are self-explanatory while a mashup ride has a bit of everything.
A typical mashup will include bitumen, gravel, and parkways, so it's a fun and interesting mix of terrain that doesn't require a great deal of technical ability. A mountain bike or gravel bike is ideal for these rides.
Regular social rides are held each week plus 3 to 4 epic rides (60 to 150 kms) each year.
The weekly ride departs from Reef Studios. They are usually about 30 to 40 kms in length and take around 90 minutes to 2 hours.
Start times and days vary depending on the time of year. Here are the links for more detailed information on all the above.
- Cycle CQ website - Full information on the group and lots of other funky info on cycling in our region.

- Cycle CQ on Facebook - our big epic rides are posted here as events.

Rocky MTB
These rides are held at First Turkey Mountain Bike Reserve at Norman Gardens, and depart from the car park at the end of German Street. Three or four times a year, we will also ride at Seeonee Park on Yeppoon Road.
The rides I lead for the club are called Turkey Roll rides. They are designed for slower or less experienced riders and are conducted on green and blue trails.
You will need a decent mountain bike for these rides, and there are other pre-requisites which you can find out about via the link below.
